Policy and technical submissions and consultations The Institute regularly makes formal submissions on tax policy at national and EU levels. Through focus groups, our Policy and Technical Committee, our ongoing engagement with Government Ministers and senior officials (particularly in the Department of Finance and the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Innovation) and specific research and submission work, we ensure that the ideas of, and the issues faced by Chartered Tax Advisers (CTA) are captured.
Council The governing body of the Institute is its Council (Board of Directors) which includes senior partners from professional services firms, leading executives at publicly listed companies, experts from education and the public service and our Chief Executive.
The role of Council is to oversee the strategic direction and governance of the Institute and is made up of 18 elected members, 2 co-opted members and the Chief Executive. Members are permitted to put themselves forward for election once a year.

Conferences and events The Institute hosts several conferences, seminars and briefings throughout the year and these feature high calibre speakers from the tax profession in Ireland and abroad. Our members are invited to speak based on areas of expertise and experience, which is an ideal way in which to share professional experience among peers.
Committees The Irish Tax Institute consults and supports its members in a variety of ways, in particular through the efforts of our committees. Our standing committees are charged with supporting specific areas of policy and members’ services, and through this structure, as well as our regional branch network, the Institute is able to consult its members and involve them in policy formulation. Each committee is populated with members from a wide range of business backgrounds to ensure that each membership sector is supported by the Institute.
Irish Tax Review Considered to be Ireland’s leading journal on taxation issues, Irish Tax Review is published four times per year and is filled with informative articles and expert analysis by a range of distinguished tax advisers. Each edition, consisting of over 100 pages, covers a variety of current tax issues and developments and is an indispensable resource for all Chartered Tax Advisers (CTAs). Irish Tax Review is issued to approx. 6,000 members and subscribers of Irish Tax Institute. The Institute welcomes submissions of article suggestions or topics from members and readers.
